1. To present a comprehensive collection on the regions, cities and villages of the Islamic World, including even those cities and regions which do not exist anymore;
2. To provide an inclusive web based encyclopedia in Arabic, English and French, with the inclusion of print version of the encyclopedia;
3. Due to many geographical books around the Islamic World which might be incomprehensive and some of them maybe include unsubstantiated and sometimes weak and unreliable information, this program hopes to provide an encyclopedia that will be corrected from all such deficiencies and present it to the esteemed researchers;
4. To assist provision of an accessible web-based collection for researches and those interested in historical studies.

Program features:

1. Provides all the original textbooks of Masalik o Mamalik, which includes the Islamic World geographical areas from the advent to the current century;
2. Allows searching its website with key words or authors name;
3. Presents maps of the cities and geographical areas of the Islamic World.

Program needs:

1. Extensiveness of the program information and compilation of over 60000 Islamic World geographical entries as well as necessity for compiling papers by scholars in each region, require composition of diverse entries throughout the Islamic regions, relying on the knowledge of these scholars. Therefore , We need direct and active cooperation of the relevant scholars, academics and researchers, who are in a position to assist us in revisiting and composing these entries.
2. In spite of all the efforts invested in compiling names and entries, it is quite possible that due to different reasons, some of the entries might have been missed out. That being the case, we anticipate your kind cooperation in addressing such deficiencies.

Once more, we would like to emphasize that, to successfully fulfill this enormous and extensive task, we rely on all scholars and researchers, in a position to compose the entries, taking into account the existing files in this encyclopedia. Indeed all contributions received, after careful examination and evaluation will be made available to all users.
